about

Dogfish was my first, most successful, and tightest sounding Austin Band. We practiced three or more days a week, played out 2 or 3 times a week, sometimes double billed with Agony Column, widely regarded as Austin's best Metal band in the 80's (someone thought we were the Punk equivalent). This album is released free of charge to mark the sad day of Bass player, producer Ian Brown's passing in June of 2017.
This edition of the album features Ian Brown's production of my first 4-track album "Zone to Zone," which omits copyrighted material from Lou Reed and a lounge band called "the Bat Boys."
The Dogfish EP was recorded by Al Griffy in a large garage on 1/4 inch reels. Although Dogfish recorded multiple times, once even being sneaked into David Bowie's recording studio for "let's dance" this is the only surviving recording besides a live performance on video tape.
AUSCHWITZ BITZ IS IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH NAZI, ALT-RIGHT, OR OTHER HATE GROUPS.
It is an inside joke I remember Ian fondly for, where we compared the Asian dried Sardines I brought to snack on to concentration camp victims in Nazi Germany.
May Allah admit you into Paradise, Ian. You hated political correctness.
This album is absolutely free. I will not profit from my friend's death, nor delay its release by trying to divide royalties among musicians I can scarcely find or contact.
